What sets Zoe Life Coaching apart from most coaching in mental health or wellness, is that it is centered on the word of God and guided by the Holy Spirit. 

Zoe life coaching is not opposed to gleaning from clinical psychiatrists  or psychologists, for even Jesus learned from the doctors while He was young.

"And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions." Luke 2:46

Jesus learned from the doctors and I believe every doctor and licensed therapists has a lot to offer towards our mental health but that should not be the main our source.  A few verses down we see that even though Jesus listened to the doctors His source was from God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." Luke 2:52

Christians should be trauma informed but spirit led (Rom 8;14).

"Zoe Life Coaching is what I like to call kingdom therapy. It is inspired by the transformational change that God has done in my life by simply understanding who I am in Christ Jesus and the transformational power that can be infused into our souls by fully understanding and appropriating the grace of God in our lives. I believe the cure to every mental ill health has been deposited in the life of every Christian through the Holy Spirit (Roman’s 5:5/ 1 John 4:4), but it takes well trained mentors and coaches to guide people through that process."

A good example was in Luke chapter 8:

"Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village,    preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance." Luke 8:1-2

The word heal here in Greek is therapeuō means: to serve, do service, to heal, cure, restore to health. It’s where we get the English word therapy. From this portion of scripture, we can denote that Jesus was able to heal any form of infirmity, but sometimes He did this over a period of time. As the people followed Jesus and sat under His coaching, they were healed. 

The word infirmities in Greek is the word astheneia. It literally means, ‘feebleness of health or sickness of the soul and body.’The soul consists of the mind, will, intellect, and emotions.  

This gives us hope in a broken world where mental ill health is on the rise, and many are being oppressed of the devil because of the feebleness of their minds and bodies, but just like Mary, who was called Magdalene, we can be made whole through coaching and going through a series of kingdom therapy. 

Kingdom therapy is learning how to change the way you think for a better way of thinking., the kingdom-way of thinking. This was literally Jesus’ first public message to the world asking us to change the way we think for a better way of thinking. 

"From that time Jesus began to preach, crying out, Repent (change your mind for the better, heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

Jesus went around teaching (coaching) about the kingdom of God because He knew the power of changing the way you think was the secret to appropriating the Zoe life from our born again spirit to our souls and body. Changing your beliefs changes your biology and this process is known as epigenetics. 

The word “epigenetics” is derived from the Greek word “epi”, meaning “over” or “above,” and in this case, over or above the genome. This area of research involves the study of how our behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way our genes work.  Zoe life which is simply the life of God in a born again Christian, is designed to govern your mind, change your thinking and set your thoughts above every generational way of thinking. 

"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:6

Why Zoe?  The word Zoe is the Greek for the life of God within every born again Christian. It means: the absolute fulness of life, a life so blessed, active and vigorous that it is literally possessed with vitality. This is the same life that Jesus had as he came down to earth in human form. “In him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4). 

This life is what transforms our feeble minds and bodies as we abide in Christ (Kingdom Therapy) we are slowly being transformed from one point of glory to another (2 Cor 3:18).
